Heather and Thomas are the cutest couple! We had a blast heading out to a creek and old bridge. The leaves were absolutely beautiful and the weather was perfect. This happy couple is getting married in May at Eagle Pointe and we can’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Katie is one of the biggest IU fans we have ever met. She loves all things IU and was a Pre-Med major here. She has since moved on and is now an MD but returns to IU every chance she gets. Josh, being the perfect boyfriend, has learned to appreciate IU also and proposed to her at the Well House (where else would you propose to such a fan?). Their wedding is at the IU Auditorium next summer and so of course, we needed to get some campus engagement photos at all of her favorite locations. The weather was perfect and the leaves were gorgeous. We ended our shoot at the Sample Gates which of course, IS IU. We can’t wait to shoot this wedding.

Oh Katie and Landon. Katie is one of those people who are just so likeable. When you first meet her, you feel like you’ve known her forever. She told me at our consultation she was having a “wedding in our backyard” on 9.10.11. Well, as we all know, that was the biggest wedding date of the year and Katie and Landon pulled out all the stops to live up to the date. Their “backyard” is like none other. It is acres of gorgeous land in Morgantown. The first thing I noticed as I pulled up was the tent the size of Montana. As I walked around, all I could see were details. Katie has amazing taste and did everything in a vintage theme. It looked like something out of a magazine. Katie was radiant in her beautiful wedding gown that later converted into a party dress! The ceremony was filled with lots of laughter and tears. The reception was nothing short of amazing. Katie and Landon and 300 of their closest friends danced the night away to what is without a doubt, my new favorite band, Zanna-Doo. These guys know how to get a party going. Everyone was dancing and having an incredible time. I couldn’t find Katie or Landon most of the time since they were buried in a sea of dancers. Although it threatened to rain, the weather was absolutely perfect and to top the night off, there was an incredibly cool full moon. We couldn’t help but stay until the very end and hear the band play their last song. I could shoot this wedding over and over again!

Kierstin and Luke are IU Alumni who decided to marry in the place they hold near and dear to their hearts, the IU campus. Kierstin was the picture perfect bride; gorgeous and as calm as she could be. Luke was just as calm as Kierstin and he and his groomsmen laughed it up before the wedding. If you’ve never been to the IU Auditorium, it is truly something to behold. The ceremony was held in the Hall of Murals, and it is an amazing site. The floors and walls are marble and the murals are just incredible. As wowed as the guests were by the site of this venue, they were even more taken aback by the gorgeous bride making her way down that long dramatic aisle; she was all smiles and Luke was blown away. The weather was perfect and while the guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour, we hit the campus running for photos. We started at the Sample Gates, which of course, is the entryway to this gorgeous campus. Kierstin loves the camera and it loves her right back; she is a photographer’s dream! Luke said he’d do anything she wanted; already the perfect husband and they’d only be married for minutes! We had a blast shooting all over campus and then headed back to the Auditorium for their reception in the Grand Foyer. The art there is simply gorgeous and the setting was perfect for these two. They danced and laughed and had an incredible time with their family and guests. We slipped out for just a couple of minutes so we could hit the stage since they were of course, the stars of this whole show. The evening ended with a star-filled sky and tons of happiness. I know these two will have an incredible life together; they complement each other so well and truly make everyone they encounter feel liked. Congratulations you two!

Stephanie and Nate were high school sweethearts from Georgia who both went to IU. When it came time to get married, they knew they had to return to Bloomington for their wedding. They knew they wanted to get lots of photos, so we shot everything before the wedding. We went all over campus and then hit the IU Memorial Union so the guys could play some pool and Stephanie could cheese it up for us at the pinball machines. We ended our time downtown in some alleys; I always love the contrast of an elegant bride with grungy alleys and graffiti. We headed back to the church so Stephanie and Nate could get ready for the big moment. Their ceremony was held at First United Methodist Church, which is one of the most beautiful churches in Bloomington. We love shooting here with its huge ceilings and balcony for great shots of the ceremony. The reception was of course, held on campus at the IMU Tudor Room with lots of dancing. The evening ended with everyone heading outside to say goodbye as the limo whisked them off to their honeymoon.

Shannen,
I absolutely love the pics, and I can’t wait to see the rest of them! I think that you did an amazing job capturing the great time had by all. You and Bill were amazing to work with and over-accommodating! The 15 hours you spent at our wedding was a true reflection of your commitment to your profession and these pictures do a great job of illustrating your talent. You are welcome to Morgantown anytime and I would work with you over and over. we really appreciate your hard work! Now that all is said and done, I know we will always look back on these pictures to take us back to the best party of our whole lives!
Sincerely,
Katie and Landon
As Katie’s grandmother (her Mimi) You know how proud I am of her. She is a perfect child and she has given her Buppa and I many, many happy times. As for the pictures, they are awesome. I’m try ing to figure out how I can add to my scrapt book with 4 by 6 pictures. They are so good-thanks to a wonderful photgrapher who added so much to the wedding. You were a joy to have around and we hope we will see you again at future weddings. Thanks for sharing on the blog and the pictures that mean so much. Helen Hodgen-Oh by the way, we love Landon too!!!!
Mimi! How beautiful you looked in your dress. You and Buppa were a stunning couple. I do know how proud you are of Katie and you should be. She is an incredible person and as beautiful on the inside as she is on the oustide. I know that you and Buppa certianly had a hand in that – your great genes run strong. Your entire family was so warm and inviting and now you have a new wonderful grandson! Congratulations to all and of course, we would love to be at any future weddings. I wasn’t kidding when I said I could do Katie and Landon’s wedding over and over. I meant it! : )
